The Ogwen is a delightful river, spilling down the mountains of Snowdonia, in parts rushing by, in others quiet stretches and deep pools. Noted for salmon and sea trout, fishing is available in the river but not on the Park (please ask at reception about permits or licences).

The whole area is well known for activity based holidays and this Park in particular. The natural beauty of the Snowdonia National Park (840 square miles of varied countryside) is hard to surpass anywhere and beckons to be explored.

There are so many attractions it is impossible to mention but a few. Some which you may find enjoyable are mountain bike trips round Gwydir Forest, Plas y Brenin dry ski slope, Padarn Lake Country Park and Quarry Museum, The Great Little Trains, local swimming pools, orienteering, skin diving and snorkeling. Gardens to visit include the famous Bodnant and Plas Newydd (Anglesey), maritime museums and Snowdon Pleasure Flights from Caernarfon Airport, golf courses, shopping, eating out and of course enjoying the marvelous scenery.
